Our New Construction & Remodeling Services
New Homes
For a new home, we go over the plumbing in the plans and put in the water lines, drain lines, vents, and fixtures the home needs.
Home Additions
An addition, such as a new bathroom or laundry room, needs new lines that tie into the home’s existing plumbing. We look at where the existing water and drain lines run and plan the new work around them.
New Business Spaces
We also put in the plumbing for new business spaces, such as a build-out of an empty unit, including restrooms, sinks, and water heaters. A new business space may also need a backflow preventer, which we can install and test.
For a kitchen or bathroom remodel in an existing home or business, see Plumbing Remodeling.
Stages of New Construction Plumbing
Many homes and buildings in Davie sit on a concrete slab, so some of the plumbing has to go in before the concrete is poured. On a new building, the plumbing is usually put in at three points:
Step 1
Before the Slab Is Poured
The drain lines and any water lines that run under the floor go in first, so the layout needs to be set early.
Step 2
Before the Walls Are Closed
The water lines, drain lines, and vents inside the walls go in next, while the framing is still open.
Step 3
Near the End of the Job
The sinks, toilets, faucets, and water heater go in after the floors, tile, and counters are done.
Permitted plumbing work is usually inspected before it is covered up.
Permits for New Construction in Davie
New homes, additions, and build-outs in Davie are permitted through the Town of Davie Building Division at 8800 SW 36th Street. We pull plumbing permits where they are required. If the property is in another town, that town or the county issues the permit instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should a plumber be part of a new construction project?
It helps to bring in the plumber while the plans are being drawn.
On a slab, the drain lines go in before the concrete is poured, so the plumbing layout needs to be set first.
We go over the plans, explain the plumbing involved, and give you a written price before any work starts.
Can you add plumbing for a new bathroom in a home addition?
Yes.
We run new water and drain lines for the addition and tie them into the home’s existing plumbing.
If the property uses a septic system, adding a bathroom may also need approval from the Florida Department of Health in Broward County, which handles septic permits.
We do not work on septic tanks.
Does a new business space need a backflow preventer?
It often does.
If the Town of Davie provides the water, the Town’s guidelines call for a backflow preventer on business buildings, and it must be tested every year by a tester registered with BSI.
We install and test backflow preventers, and we send the test results to the water utility for you.
Do you put in gas lines for new homes and business spaces?
Yes, for natural gas. We install natural gas lines for stoves, water heaters, and other gas appliances in new homes and business spaces.
We do not work with propane.
Gas line work is covered in more detail on our Gas Line Installation page.
